Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of data that the website asks your browser to store. Cookies allows the website to remember your information and preferences for future visits.
You can decline to accept cookies, and you can delete cookies through your browser at any time. Please note, if you decline cookies on the website, certain parts of the website may no longer work for you.

If you leave a comment on the site, the data you put in the fields of the comment form are collected, as well as your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Your name, email address and website are saved in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Contact forms
If you contact me through my Contact page, your IP address, user agent, name, email address, website, and message is submitted to the Akismet service (also owned by Automattic) for the sole purpose of spam checking. The actual submission data is stored in the database of the site on which it was submitted and is emailed directly to my inbox, which is password protected. This will allow me to respond to you.
Sharing
At the bottom of each blog post, you have the option to share a link to the post on your own social media feeds or via email. Each button loads content directly from its service in order to display the button as well as your information and tools. As a result, each service collects your information to sign into your social accounts and share the post. The terms of this data collection is specific to each social media platform you share to.
When sharing content via email, the following information is used: your name and email address (if you’re logged in, this information will be pulled directly from your account), IP address (for spam checking), user agent (for spam checking), and email body/content. This content will be sent to Akismet (also owned by Automattic) so that a spam check can be performed.
Subscribe via email
You have the option to subscribe to receive new posts from the site directly to your email inbox. When leaving a comment on a post, you have the option to subscribe to new comments. In order to facilitate this process, the following information is collected: your email address, as well as the ID of the post or comment (depending on the specific subscription being processed). In the event of a new subscription being initiated, we also collect some basic server data, including all of the subscribing user’s HTTP request headers, the IP address from which the subscribing user is viewing the page, and the URI which was given in order to access the page. This server data used for the exclusive purpose of monitoring and preventing abuse and spam.
Third party cookies
The site may include embedded content on its pages or posts (e.g. videos, images, articles, Google ads, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Google Ads uses cookies to show you ads that are tailored to your browsing activity.
How long we retain your data
Cookies will expire after 1 year.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

I will never sell or rent your data to third parties. I will only share your data with third parties if it is required by law, or to protect my rights and safety.
You have the right to request a copy of your personal data that I hold. Please contact me to make that request.
