    Baby Update – 39 Weeks!

So I had hoped that last week’s Baby Update would be my last one. It wasn’t. I’m still here, and I’m still pregnant! How far along: 39 weeks! Soooooo close! Baby size: Lil’ Ziggy is about 7.5 lbs and around 20 inches according to Babycentre. Belly: You can definitely see a difference between last week and this week, I think. Not that I’m any bigger, but I feel like my belly is really obviously pointing downward: Clothes: It’s been yoga pants and tank tops all week long. I put on a sweater for my OB appointment, but I had a tank…

Pregnancy at its end: a mixed bag of emotions

My pregnancy is almost over. I can’t even say it’s been a long nine months. In reality, it’s flown by way faster than I thought it would. Each month slipping by before I could even stop and check one of the many “pregnancy checklists” you see online. Each month flying past, over so soon that I have barely had time to really analyze my feelings. So here is my attempt at that now, with (hopefully) only days left. Happy and Sad at the same time I think this one is fairly common – I’m happy that the wait is almost…

    Baby Update – 38 Weeks!

I’m getting to the end of my pregnancy. This could very well be my last Baby Update!  How far along: 38 weeks. I’m counting the days now! Baby size: Lil’ Ziggy is about 6.8 to 7 lbs. He’s pretty much just putting on weight rather than growing longer now. Belly: The belly is pretty much at its limit, I don’t think there’s much room to grow now. Here is (hopefully?) what could be my last belly pic for Lil’ Ziggy: Clothes: I put on jeans and an actual top for our meeting with our Financial Advisor today, but the rest of this week…

My Birth Plan – Part 2

Disclaimer: If you haven’t read Part 1 of my Birth Plan, please check it out. It explains why I chose to write a birth plan and how I hope it will help me during the birth experience. It also explains that my birth plan is flexible, meaning I’m not going to allow myself to get into an unsafe situation because I want to stick to the plan so badly. Birth plans can be a touchy subject and often work their way into the mommy wars. Everyone has different priorities, hopes and fears when it comes to birth. This is how…

    Baby Update – 37 Weeks!

How far along: 37 weeks Baby size: Lil Ziggy is about 6.5 lbs and almost 20 inches long. Belly: The phrase that comes to mind is “comically spherical”. Ignore the hair. I work from home now 🙂 Clothes: I like this work-from-home thing, and here’s why: I’m still in my pjs! I’ll put on real clothes for tonight’s Ash Wednesday service, but then it’s right back into the sweats. This is the most comfortable I’ve been my entire pregnancy, clothes-wise. Movement: I feel like Lil’ Ziggy has moved down ever so slightly, so I’m not getting as many jabs to the…

    I made this: Valentines Cheesecake!

It’s been a very busy weekend. In my mad dash to finish the nursery AND start taking cloth diaper pictures for my planned review series, I managed to completely flop on Valentines Dinner. A lovely roast beef with potatoes, brussels sprouts (we like them, ok?) and Yorkshire pudding sadly turned into an overdone crock pot roast with peas and mashed potatoes. And no Yorkshire pudding, because ain’t nobody got time for that apparently. The potatoes were the best part. PLUS, I was going to make Chris a cheesecake for dessert, but I didn’t have a springform pan on Friday, and…
